ABM stands for Accountancy and Business Management. It primarily focuses on the foundational concepts of financial management, business management, accounting processes and all the things that are concentrated to business. This strand is designed as an introductory course in accounting and business management.
Students in this strand are trained logically and scientifically. They must be good in analyzation and time management. They also need to have a long patience and concentration on their studies.

ABM is truly a hard strand. You may face subjects that will make your brain blown up. But still, it is definitely worth it if you finally surpassed those challenges that may come to you.
ABM is the perfect strand for those who want to be a businessman or any job related to business. I want you guys to practice yourself in analyzation because that is what every ABM student must be good at. You also need to have a very long patience and practice yourself in time management. One of the hardest thing ABM students may encounter is the Accounting Processes.
ADVANTAGES OF TAKING THE ABM STRAND
- One will have better understanding regarding to business, finance, marketing, accounting, etc.
- One will instantly boost his earning potential.
- One will be taking the perfect path if he’s planning to take the courses related to business.
- One will be able to communicate with different kinds of people especially with professionals and businessmen.
- One will understand how money usually works and how to use it wisely.
DISADVANTAGES
- Shifting courses that are not business related would take extra time and effort for a student to keep up with the proper stepping stone and knowledge they need to acquire before continuing college.
More than 50% of the people I have asked can’t say that ABM students are wiser than those students from other strands and their reason is that, everyone has their own level of knowledge. However, the rest of them can say that they are wiser because they always practice their analytical thinking and they can apply it on real life. Well for me, I can say that ABM students are wiser than those of the other strands and my reason is the same as their’s.
Half of them said that ABM strand is really that hard while half of them said its not.
“Most of the people think that ABM strand is more on Mathematics, which is wrong” that is the concept the respondents think why some people say that ABM is the hardest among other strand. While for some of them, they said that Accountancy is the reason why some people say that ABM is the hardest among other strand.
More than half of the respondents said that they didn’t think of shifting to other strand for the reason that they like being in ABM strand and it is the right track for their course in college. The rest said that they did because its either hard for them, they just don’t like the strand or being in the ABM strand is not their dream.
Lastly, based on all of their answer, ABM strand does not require anyone to be good in Math, just analyzation.
